OPPORTUNITY

The contract position I was offered with Savage Services was a perfect match. Savage never utilized any design resources in their products, so being able to see the applications through fresh eyes allowed me to use my abilities to sift through unnecessary information that blocked many technicians and field workers to perform their jobs properly.

Project Challenges

  • Design resources were never utilized in Savage Services applications.

  • The current system was a band-aid fix of multiple platforms and needed to be simplified with most important information.

  • Tasks within the app weren’t being completed because of complexity and confusion.

  • Fieldworkers had unclear expectations of jobs, resulting in projects not being completed correctly.

  • The processes and programs were not being used because of confusion, and a poorly executed application that was not user friendly out in the environment.

  • High amount of lost inventory, workers not tracking time correctly, jobs not being completed with expected regulations.

Clean-Functional Designs

Executing the design and development of the new ETS application was a challenging and very rewarding project. With being able to have complete ownership of the layout and design, style and look, and overseeing the complete user experience, my contract with Savage Services was a complete success and wonderful learning opportunity.

The Final Results

“Steve brought a fresh perspective to our product team, which led us to do a full redesign of the application that we were building. During that process, Steve worked well with the team and contributed from the beginning to implementation. He always listened carefully to the feedback on his designs, and would simply resolve to find a better approach to the problem.

Ultimately a recommendation like this comes down to one question: Would I want to work with Steve again on another project? Without any hesitation, I say yes.”
